The Baltic Sea has long been a meeting point of trade, travel and shifting borders, and that layered history gives this antique map its particular appeal. With coastlines, place names and surrounding countries laid out in elegant period detail, it feels both scholarly and quietly atmospheric, like a page from a nineteenth-century atlas chosen as much for its beauty as its geography. A striking choice for anyone drawn to Scandinavian decor, Baltic history and vintage cartography, it brings calm, character and a sense of place to a study, hallway, office or gallery wall.
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
Print quality
Printed on beautifully textured 300gsm cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks, this reproduction has a crisp, characterful finish that suits antique cartography especially well. The heavyweight fine art paper gives the image depth and presence, while the archival inks help preserve its subtle tones and fine printed detail.
