Bee illustrations have a warmth and quiet industry about them, and that is what gives this antique print its particular charm. With two bumblebees flanking and appearing to hold up a sculptural cluster of honeycomb, the composition feels both curious and decorative, balancing the precision of nineteenth-century natural history with a more playful, characterful sense of design. A lovely choice for anyone drawn to antique bee prints, vintage entomology art and cottage-inspired decor, it brings texture, detail and a gently whimsical feel to a kitchen, study, hallway or gallery wall.
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
Print quality
Printed on beautifully textured 300gsm cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks, this reproduction has a crisp, characterful finish that suits antique entomology artwork especially well. The heavyweight fine art paper gives the image depth and presence, while the archival inks help preserve its warm sepia tones, fine linework and intricate printed detail.
