There’s something captivating about an old map that uses historic names — Burmah, Siam, and Anam — capturing Southeast Asia as 19th-century atlas makers understood it, with borders and place names that hint at trade routes, empires, and shifting influence. This 1859 map is a striking piece of vintage cartography for a study or gallery wall, especially if you’re drawn to antique maps that show how the world (and its labels) have changed over time.
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
