The crested porcupine is one of those animals that seems almost designed for antique natural history illustration. With its dramatic quills, sturdy form and unmistakable silhouette, it brings a wonderful mix of curiosity, character and old-world charm to the wall. This print has all the appeal of a Victorian wildlife plate, making it a striking choice for animal lovers, collectors of unusual natural history art and anyone drawn to vintage wall decor with a slightly wilder edge.
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
Print quality
Printed on beautifully textured 300gsm cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks, this reproduction has a rich, detailed finish that suits antique wildlife illustration especially well. The heavyweight fine art paper gives the image depth and presence, while the archival inks help preserve its subtle tones and finely observed natural detail.
