Some maps do far more than chart a continent; they capture an entire historical imagination. This North America map from 1819 has exactly that appeal, with its old-world cartographic detail and the added fascination of Native American tribal territories laid out across the land. It feels like a piece of exploration history as much as a decorative print, full of the curiosity, ambition and layered storytelling that make antique maps so rewarding to live with. A striking choice for anyone drawn to vintage cartography, American history and interiors with a thoughtful, collected character.
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
Print quality
Printed on beautifully textured 300gsm cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks, this reproduction has a crisp, characterful finish that suits antique cartography especially well. The heavyweight fine art paper gives the image depth and presence, while the archival inks help preserve its subtle tones and fine printed detail.
