A rare glimpse of early 19th-century life in Bengal, this 1809 “Smoking Party in the Province of Bengal” scene captures a relaxed social moment centred around hookahs and long pipes — rendered in richly detailed, antique illustration style. It’s a fascinating vintage India print for anyone drawn to historical interiors, travel history, ethnographic illustration, or a gallery wall of unusual antique scenes (and it looks especially striking in a study, lounge, or reading nook).
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
