Albertus Seba’s snake studies have a wonderfully theatrical quality, and this antique reptile print makes the most of it. Coiled, elegant and full of finely observed detail, it has all the fascination of a cabinet-of-curiosities piece and the scholarly charm of a vintage natural history plate. A striking choice for lovers of herpetology, dark academia interiors and unusual wildlife art, it brings a bold, intelligent presence to a study, hallway, office or gallery wall.
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
Print quality
Printed on beautifully textured 300gsm cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks, this reproduction has a rich, detailed finish that suits antique natural history illustration especially well. The heavyweight fine art paper gives the image depth and presence, while the archival inks help preserve its subtle tones and intricate linework.
