A collection of snakes has a drama all of its own, and this antique reptile print leans into it beautifully. With its curling forms, varied markings and old-world scientific precision, it has the unmistakable charm of a Victorian herpetology plate. The mix of python, boa constrictor, banded krait and coral snake gives the piece a wonderfully cabinet-of-curiosities feel, making it a striking choice for dark academia interiors, studies, hallways or anywhere that could use a little natural history intrigue.
This is an edited reproduction made from antique/public domain source imagery.
Print quality
Printed on beautifully textured 300gsm cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks, this reproduction has a rich, detailed finish that suits antique natural history illustration especially well. The heavyweight fine art paper gives the image depth and presence, while the archival inks help preserve its subtle tones and finely observed detail.
